Shah
Technical Consultants (P) Ltd. (STC) was established in the
year 1976 by Mr. Mahavir Shivlal Shah (1933 – 1988) with the
objective of providing professional services in the field of
urban Infrastructure. Mr. Shah had previous experience of
working with major American consulting firms in the USA
before returning to India to set up STC. Mr. Shah was also
one of the founder members of the Indian Water Works
Association.
From its
humble beginnings with its head office in Mumbai , STC won
its first major assignment in association with Engineering
Sciences INC of the USA for the World Health Organization to
prepare a Master Plan for water supply and sewerage for the
city of Chennai ( Pop : 4 Million ) in India.
STC
subsequently bagged another major assignment for undertaking
the feasibility, detailed engineering and tender
documentation for water and sewerage facilities for 6 cities
and 104 towns in the Mumbai Metropolitan region ( Pop : 3
Million ).
STC has
since been growing consistently and profitably undertaking
projects for most of the major cities in India including
Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata. |

STC is an
ISO 9001 certified company and in addition to its main
office in Mumbai has offices in 6 other Indian cities. It
boasts of a strength of over 250 persons on its project all
over the country.
STC has an
order book or over Rs 900 Million with projects for the
cities of Bangalore (Pop : 6 Million), Mumbai (Pop : 14
Million), Jaipur (Pop : 2.6 Million), Nagpur (Pop : 2.4
Million), Indore (Pop : 2.5 Million).
Most of the
projects on which STC is working are funded either by JBIC,
ADB or World Bank. STC has also worked on projects funded by
DFID, The French Water Club, WHO, Ausaid and other major
multilateral financial institutions worldwide.
STC has
worked with major international companies including Black
and Veatch, MWH, Bechtel, Veolia Environment, Mott McDonald,
Poyry, NJS Consultants, Hyder Consultants etc.
STC also
boasts of an impressive client profile. The nature of
business carried out by STC determines that a large part of
its clientele in India come form the Public Sector. STC
lists among its clients all the major Municipal Corporations
in the country (Mumbai, Nagpur, Surat, Jaipur , Kolkata,
Indore, Baroda , Trivandrum , Srinagar, Simla etc) and major
Water Supply Boards ( Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Maharashtra,
TamilNadu, Kerala, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Orissa, Karnataka,
Uttar Pradesh, Goa etc. ) and other Quasi Government bodies
( Naval Dockyards, MIDC, CIDCO, PDCOR, NTDACL, TWICL,
TNUIFSL, APSUP, MMRDA etc) . Among the private sector STC
lists JUSCO, Afcons, HCC, L&T as its esteemed clients. Among
its International Clients STC lists Veolia Environment,
